Joseph Phelps' flagship Insignia, was launched in 1974. It's made from a combination of vineyards in different locations of Napa Valley: Las Rocas (Stags Leap District), Suscol (South Napa), Yountville (Oak Knoll District), Barboza (Stags Leap District) and Home Ranch (St. Helena).
It is a blend based on Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec (with % varying every vintage)
2013 - 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, and the rest Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. The 40th vintage of Insignia.
Aged 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels. 12,300 cases produced.
