The Marnier Lapostolle family, founders of the liqueur Grand Marnier, created Casa Lapostolle in 1994 with the ambition to create world-class wines by combining the superb terroir of Chile with their French winemaking philosophy.

Clos Apalta is made from pre-phyloxeric old vines of Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon, planted in low fertility, high density granitic soils in the foothills of the Apalta Valley. It's entirely dry farmed and with old vines dating from 1920's.

64% Carmenère, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot

Maceration length 4-5 weeks with manual punch down. Fermented at 28C in  75% in 75hL French oak vats, 25% in new French oak barrels. Malolactic in new French oak barrels.

Aged for 25 months in French oak barrels, 87% new, 13% second use. Fining and Filtering: Not fined, cold stabilized nor filtered.

Certified organic, and biodynamic.
